Our Background

The 5 authors of this site have quite a bit in common. A desire to go fast, fierce competitivenss, and mutual respect (well not scoot, he's slow j/k). recently dubbed "the Ontario Boyz" the name has kinda stuck, and even Though Colin lives in Manitoba, he's an Honourary Ontarion. Our newest Addition Tony, lives in the Maryland, USA, but we forgive him. :)
Since I'm writing this, I'll start with my project. It is a 1989 Z24 with a 3.1/3400 hybrid engine. No 1/4 times yet, but as soons as the snow melts in the spring, I'll be there.

Randomly, next is Chris Rook. He has a 3.1/3100 hybrid in his 85 Jimmy (the first to do so). tougher than a FWD swap, he decided to make it even harder by putting a spooly thing in the mix. currently this tow vehicle is tunning 13.8 @ 99 mph.

Colin Bulloch, was the first person to put a hybrid engine in a j-body, stealing lots of parts from the dealership he works at to make it happen. He has tonnes done and is currently the fastest all motor v6 J, with a 1/4 of 14.59@ 95 MPH.

Scott (scoot) Thurlbeck is now the first person known to put a Gen III block in a first Gen J-body, stuffing a 3400 in his 84 type 10 hatchback. This car has yet to see the road, but should any day now, and 1/4 times will be seen in the spring.

Tony Knight is the only person known to have used an electronically controlled 4T45E transmission with his swap. Pairing a 4 speed OD auto with Gen III power in an '87 Z24 will be interesting. The swap is still underway.

We've all spent hundreds of hours researching, tinkering and theoreticizing what can be done. More to come, from the Ontario boys! To see pictures of our projects, click the links on our names in the home page.
